Alicia Villarreal is a Mexican singer, who began performing with Grupo Límite, where she soared to fame with hits like “Por Puro Amor,” and has had a successful solo career. Her albums, including “Soy Lo Prohibido,” “Cuando el Corazon Se Cruza,” and “Orgullo de Mujer,” not only secured her a Grammy nomination but also captivated audiences during extensive tours across Mexico and the U.S.
After a four-year hiatus marked by personal tragedy, Alicia made a triumphant return in 2017 with the release of “La Villarreal,” an album produced by her husband, Cruz Martinez. This comeback showcased her traditional Mexican roots alongside hit singles like “Haz Lo Que Quieras” and “Te Aprovechas.” Her fans adore her for her signature rancheras, heartfelt ballads, and energy. She’s bringing the Latina heat to the Saroyan Theatre this Saturday.
