Parents and Addicts In Need (P.A.I.N.) offers services and support for individuals struggling with addiction, as well as their families.
“We want to help families get through addiction and get more people clean and sober,” says executive director Jamie Brown. Leaders of the Fresno non-profit recognize that the harmful effects of substance abuse do not impact the user alone. As a result, Brown emphasizes, “We have family support groups and recovery groups for addicts and family members,”

“I am truly grateful to PAIN for helping me get my life back.”

The P.A.I.N. team is motivated by the results they have helped to bring about. The organization’s website includes powerful testimonials from graduates of the program. Among them, Jaime from Clovis wrote, “Today, my life is peaceful and has a sense of normalcy again and I am truly grateful to PAIN for helping me get my life back.”
As Brown says proudly in the video above, “To watch someone start to gain some of their pride back and their self-worth and to see them feel responsible and reliable and be able to appreciate every day is one of the most rewarding feelings.”
P.A.I.N. is raising funds to establish a sober living home in Fresno County. The goal is to offer those in recovery a greater chance of long-term success by providing a foundation of accountability, structure, and a model for a life of sobriety.
For additional information on addiction, the resources P.A.I.N. offers, and how you can support these important efforts, visit their website here.
