Granville Homes’ 15th annual Home of Hope distributed $274,400 in early proceeds Friday to this year’s nonprofit beneficiaries so they can provide immediate support to those affected by COVID-19.

The 10 beneficiaries are Angels of Grace, Art of Life Cancer Foundation, Breaking the Chains, CASA of Fresno and Madera Counties, Central California Food Bank, Foundation for Clovis Schools, Foundation for Sanger Schools, Fresno Police Chaplaincy, Hinds Hospice, and Parents & Addicts In Need.

‘Not Alone During This Uncertain Time’

“CASA of Fresno and Madera Counties, and the foster youth we serve, are so grateful for the early distribution of funds,” said Wilma Tom Hashimoto, executive director of CASA of Fresno and Madera Counties.

“This will allow us to provide the necessary resources and technology for our avocates to offer comfort and support to their foster youth, to give them a voice, and reassure them that they are not alone during this uncertain time.”

Cary Catalano, with the Foundation for Sanger Schools, said the early distribution allows the group to distribute $25,000 in graduation senior scholarships to help them offset the tuition cost to attend a college or trade school of their choice — now that is teamwork at its best.”

Nonprofits Focused on Service Amid the Pandemic

For many of the beneficiaries, the Granville Home of Hope is their biggest fundraising event of the year. However, because of the increased community needs, these organizations must focus their attention entirely on serving those affected by the pandemic.

“For the past 15 years, Central California Food Bank has been able to provide millions of meals through Granville’s Home of Hope Campaign,” said Andy Souza, the food bank’s president/CEO. “And in these most challenging and crucial times, we are so grateful for this early distribution of funds and the opportunity it gives us to provide desperately-needed food and hope to local families.”

2020 Goal Is $800,000

The Granville Home of Hope has raised more than $5.8 million for community-based organizations since 2006. This year’s goal is to sell 8,000 tickets to raise $800,000. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the nonprofits.

These organizations serve our community every day, and it is so inspirational to see how each of them has stepped up, without hesitation, to meet the additional challenges brought on by COVID-19.” — Darius Assemi, president/CEO of Granville Homes

This year’s Grand Prize is a 1,962 square foot, 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath Canvas 10 home, located in Granville’s newest gated neighborhood at Belterra. Fresno Lexus is again a partner in the event and has donated a two-year lease on a 2020 Lexus UX as a prize. Anyone who buys a two-ticket “Lexus bundle” is eligible to win the Lexus lease.

All tickets purchased for the 2020 Granville Home of Hope remain valid. Ticket sales will continue until the drawing. Granville Homes will announce a new date for the drawing as soon as businesses return to normal.

“The Granville Home of Hope program is our way of supporting some of the amazing nonprofits who are bringing hope to our neighbors in need,” said Darius Assemi, president/CEO of Granville Homes and publisher of GV Wire.

“These organizations serve our community every day, and it is so inspirational to see how each of them has stepped up, without hesitation, to meet the additional challenges brought on by COVID-19. Join us in supporting the transformational work of these nonprofits by purchasing your ticket today.”
