President Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, was in Fresno on Thursday soliciting funding for a proposed documentary.
The former New York mayor pitched small groups at Ovidio Ristorante Italiano and The Limelite in northwest Fresno on a film investigating alleged corruption in the Democratic Party and its connection to Ukraine.

Giuliani on Impeachment

“The whole reason for that impeachment by crooked (Congressman Adam) Schiff and (Speaker of the House Nancy) Pelosi was to hide the tremendous amount of corruption that went on in the Ukraine.”Rudy Giuliani
Giuliani said he wants to expose what he believes was at the root of the impeachment hearings against Trump.
“I’m here in Fresno to talk about a campaign that we have to get the truth about — the corruption in the Obama administration that is being hidden,” Giuliani told GV Wire as he left Ovidio.
Things circled back to Hunter Biden, the son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. The younger Biden served on the board of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian natural gas producer from 2014 to 2019.
President Trump’s request that the Ukrainian government investigate the Bidens was cited by House Democrats in approving the articles of impeachment.
“The whole reason for that impeachment by crooked (Congressman Adam) Schiff and (Speaker of the House Nancy) Pelosi was to hide the tremendous amount of corruption that went on in the Ukraine that benefited not just (Hunter) Biden — he made about $14 million,” Giuliani said. “They’re going to find out that a lot more Democrats were putting their hands in and pulling out Ukrainian money. And I want the American people to know that.”
Thus far, the theory that Ukrainians interfered in the U.S. election and that Democrats cooperated in that effort is unsubstantiated.
“It’s not only a conspiracy theory, it is completely debunked,” Tom Bossert told ABC’S George Stephanopoulos last year.
Bossert, a Republican, was Trump’s homeland security advisor until being replaced by John Bolton.
Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal reported in November that federal prosecutors are probing Giuliani’s consulting businesses and other sources of income.

Giuliani on Sanders, Bloomberg

With Super Tuesday just days away, Giuliani enthusiastically volunteered his Republican views on two Democratic presidential contenders.
On Michael Bloomberg:

“I don’t remember Mike in the building I was trapped in (on 9/11) and almost got killed.”Rudy Giuliani
“I changed New York, and he was a good caretaker. But on the other hand, we have a president who’s a reformer. So you put Bloomberg’s record up against Trump, it doesn’t compare. I mean, I did all the hard jobs. I reformed New York. I brought crime down by 60%. I got 500,000 people off welfare. I reduced a budget. I reduced taxes. And I was the one who was there on September 11. … I don’t remember Mike in the building I was trapped in and almost got killed,” Giuliani said.
On Bernie Sanders:
“He’s not going to happen. The United States would be gone with a Bernie Sanders presidency. … Socialism — communism — has always destroyed countries. So if we like to be like Venezuela, vote for Bernie Sanders.”

A Quiet Visit

Tickets weren’t required to hear Giuliani pitch his funding website on an iPad-like device.
Some people at Ovidio said they received an invitation. Others said they just showed up for a nice Italian dinner, and there was Giuliani.
