A tip led Fresno police on Friday morning to the car believed to be involved in the hit-and-run killing of 10-year-old Angel Hernandez on Thursday night.
Upon seeing the car, officers went to the apartment of the car’s registered owner and took him downtown to headquarters for questioning.
The tip about the black Chrysler 300 with front-end damage came from a woman who lived in the same apartment complex as the man, police said.

Fresno police are searching for a black 2011-2014 Chrysler 300 that they believe was involved in the hit-and-run killing of a 10-year-old boy Thursday night.
Friday morning, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Angel Hernandez.
According to police, the youth was walking west toward Woodward Park at about 11:30 p.m. when the vehicle ran him over at Ft. Washington and Friant roads.
Driver Ran Red Light, Kept Going
Police say the driver ran a red light, struck the child, and continued south on Friant.
Hernandez was with other family members as they were crossing the street in the crosswalk at the intersection, relatives told police.
It is believed that the black Chrysler’s front end is damaged on the right side.
