The Good Dirt Pottery studio, owned by Jorden Collins and Christy Manning, came to life after they were inspired during the COVID-19 pandemic to help lift the spirits of children stuck at home by hosting art classes.
The classes became an instant hit and the duo set out to create a studio to inspire and teach new artists.
Jorden and Christy also inspire others through their foster youth program @gooddirtcollective. Good Dirt Collective gives foster youth the chance to learn critical work skills necessary to be successful after exiting the foster system.
The Good Dirt Pottery studio is open Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the corner of Bullard and West avenues. It has classes for beginners, couples, and individuals with disabilities.
