A 50-year-old Clovis man pleaded guilty on Monday to methamphetamine trafficking charges in federal court.

According to court documents, on Aug. 28, 2020, law enforcement officers obtained and executed a search warrant at Ivan Sigmond’s residence, where they found nearly 30 pounds of pure meth, two handguns, and an assault firearm.

This case is the product of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Clovis Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Karen Escobar is prosecuting the case.

Sentencing Set for May 20

Sigmond is scheduled to be sentenced on May 20, 2024. He faces a minimum of 10 years in prison, a maximum of life in prison, and a $10 million fine.

His sentence, however, will be determined at the court’s discretion after consideration of statutory factors and federal sentencing guidelines.
