UCSF Health and Adventist Health have proposed a joint plan to purchase the closed Madera Community Hospital, potentially transforming it into a fully operational and teaching hospital.
Adventist Health President and CEO, Kerry Heinrich, believes this deal could “change the dynamic of healthcare in the Central Valley.” The proposal has Madera County’s support, but its impact on the hospital’s reopening timeline remains uncertain. The priority is to reopen hospital services and maintain financial stability.
This proposal comes amidst negotiations with American Advanced Management, whose bid to purchase and operate the facility was selected by the hospital’s board in December.
