A trucker convoy, self-proclaimed as “God’s army,” is set to journey to the U.S.-Mexico border next week amid escalating tensions between Texas and the federal government.
The “Take Our Border Back” convoy organizers claim they are standing against “globalists” who they believe are conspiring to keep U.S. borders open. The convoy’s Christian nationalist rhetoric adds a dangerous dimension to an already volatile situation, according to experts.

The convoy is set to depart from Virginia Beach, making several stops along the border, with separate rallies planned for Feb. 3.
