Richard Torrez Jr. of Tulare is now 4-0 as a professional after he stopped Ahmed Hefny of Egypt (13-3) in the third round of their heavyweight bout on Saturday night.

Torrez, an Olympic boxing silver medalist, earned the victory in his Madison Square Garden debut on the undercard of the Vasiliy Lomachenko-Jamaine Ortiz main event.

Torrez, 23, has won all four of his bouts by knockout.

Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KO) set himself up for a potential meeting next year against undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney with a tougher-than-expected unanimous decision over Ortiz.

Ali’s Grandson Remains Perfect as a Pro

Nico Ali Walsh (7-0) — Muhammad Ali’s grandson — also remained perfect as a professional, beating Billy Wagner by unanimous decision in their middleweight bout.

Duke Ragan, a silver-medal-winning teammate of Torrez at the Tokyo Games, improved to 8-0 as a pro featherweight, edging Puerto Rican veteran Luis Lebron in a decision that drew boos from the crowd.
