Ukraine: Russian Warship Burns ‘After Missile Strike’

Ukrainian officials said their forces launched a successful missile attack on the flagship of Russia’s Black Sea fleet, forcing the crew to evacuate the vessel.

The Russian defense ministry said the Moskva warship had been “seriously damaged,” but blamed the incident on a fire.

Earlier in the conflict, the ship made international headlines when it called on Ukrainian border guards defending Snake Island in the Black Sea to surrender — to which one memorably radioed the defiant message, “Russian warship, go f— yourself!”
