Where would you like to see potential future Measure C funding go?

Sidewalks, streets, public transportation, highways, bike paths, bridges, paratransit, school bus replacement, farmworker vanpools, airport improvements?

All of these projects and services are made possible through Fresno County’s half-cent sales tax, which voters approved twice in the past 35 years.

The sales tax — projected to top $1.7 billion in expenditures over 20 years before expiring in 2027 —goes to voters for renewal in November of this year. Two-thirds approval is required for passage.

Upcoming Community Meetings

To pass Measure C for the third time, Fresno County Transportation Authority board members know they must present a spending plan that accurately reflects voters’ priorities.

Thus, they have scheduled more community meetings at which residents weigh in on what they would like to see in the next version of Measure C.

These meetings will be in Clovis, Kerman, and Reedley, as well as online. The idea is to hear the preferences of residents from both urban and rural communities.

All of the meetings will have food provided, as well as childcare, interpreter services, and transportation to the event.

In addition to the in-person events, there is a virtual community meeting set for Friday, April 22 from noon to 1:30 p.m. Sign up at this link.

Details on the other meetings are in the graphics below.
