Clovis police detectives are working to return stolen mail to residents in three cities after nabbing a theft and fraud ring on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said they were aided by a resident who had video surveillance of mail being stolen Wednesday morning.

Detectives recognized a person in the video and obtained search warrants for a house in Fresno and another in Biola, the Clovis Police Department said in a news release.

Five People Arrested

Collected during the searches: two handguns, property that allegedly had been purchased fraudulently, and stolen mail from the Clovis, Fresno, and Kerman.

Detectives arrested five people: Mailee Xiong, 34, of Clovis; Xai Xiong, 31, and Rosie Her, 36, of Fresno, and Yee Vang, 33, and Neng Vang, 40 of Biola.

Clovis police had previously arrested Mailee and Xai Xiong on Jan. 30 for mail theft and possession of burglary tools.

Of the five arrested Wednesday, just Vang remains in jail due to a felony firearm charge.

The department says it is working with U.S. Postal Service inspectors to crack down on mail theft.
