President Donald Trump’s war of choice with Iran has America’s truckers seeing red.

As in red ink on their ledgers because of skyrocketing diesel prices.

The average price for diesel in the United States hit $6 a gallon for the first time ever on Friday, AAA reported.

And, in California, a handful of service stations raised their diesel price to $9.99 — the highest that can be posted on digital signboards.

In addition, the California average for diesel is nearly $8 a gallon.

According to GasBuddy, diesel is now up roughly $2.30 from a year ago, when the national average was about $3.70.

As of Thursday, at least six stations in the Golden State were selling diesel for $9.99 a gallon, Fox11 LA reported.

High Diesel Prices Impact Everyone

Most affected by the spike in diesel prices is the cost of transporting goods by truck, ship or rail. The increases have resulted in soaring inflation as a result of higher prices for food, furniture, and most everything else U.S. consumers need or desire.

Meanwhile, Politico reports that high fuels costs are thwarting Republicans’ efforts to run on affordability issues as they attempt to hold Congress, and political strategists say it’s probably too late for the party to stem the fallout.

Finally, Trump’s approval ratings have hovered in the 30s for months, as Americans increasingly oppose his war against Iran.

In a recent Quinnipiac University poll, 60% of voters said they opposed the war with Iran. And a recent CNN/SSRS poll, indicated that 74% of Americans, including 43% of Republicans, said the war hadn’t been worth the financial burdens nor America’s military casualties.
