Politico reported that Rand Paul of Kentucky said he is considering a 2028 presidential bid, telling CBS Sunday Morning that his chances of running are “fifty-fifty” and that he will decide after the midterm elections.
Paul, who sought the Republican nomination in 2016, said he hopes to create a libertarian lane in a GOP shaped by populism.
Paul has often broken with Republicans, including recently backing a resolution to limit President Donald Trump’s war powers in Iran.
