Two cleaning contractors have been arrested for allegedly burglarizing a Visalia Airbnb property they were hired to clean, according to the Visalia Police Department.
Saul Tinoco, 52, and Dolsie Popoy, 53, were taken into custody Thursday after a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 500 block of North Dickran Avenue in Tulare, police said.
The investigation began Jan. 26 when officers responded to a reported burglary at an Airbnb residence in Visalia. A large amount of property was stolen from the home, and the case was assigned to the VPD Property Crimes Unit.
During the investigation, detectives determined the burglary had been committed by the couple, who had been hired by the victim as a contracted cleaning service for the property, according to police.
Members of the Property Crimes Unit and Special Enforcement Unit served the search warrant at the Tulare residence, where detectives located several items belonging to the victim.
Tinoco was arrested on suspicion of burglary, aggravated crime enhancement, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Popoy was arrested on suspicion of burglary and trespassing.
Both suspects were booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility.
