To figure out how people feel about Donald Trump’s performance as president in his second term, a Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll asked more than 2,300 Americans to name the best and worst things he has done since January 2025.
Immigration topped the list for Trump’s supporters and his critics. Seventy-nine percent of his backers praised his strengthening of the border and deportation blitz while 57% of his detractors cited the border and deportations as the worst thing he has done.

Trump’s opponents also cited the economy (33%) and corruption (22%) as among their greatest concerns. The poll lumped general economic conditions, tariffs, and inflation into the economy category. “Corruption” also included violating the Constitution and weaponization of the Department of Justice.
Meanwhile, 45% of Trump supporters said his leadership on the economy was among his best work. Another 15% cited the “Big Beautiful Bill” and its tax cuts.
Poll respondents were allowed to cite up to three actions by the president.
