OpenAI's ChatGPT Down for Thousands, Downdetector Reports

OpenAI’s ChatGPT experienced a possible outage Tuesday, according to Downdetector.com.

More than 20,000 users had reported problems with the platform as of 12:46 p.m. PST, according to Downdetector, which tracks outages by collecting status reports from multiple sources.

According to ChatGPT’s online status tracker, the company said the issues have been happening since 12:32 p.m. PST. The company stated, “We have identified that users are experiencing elevated errors for the impacted services. We are working on implementing a mitigation.”

Update at 12:51 p.m.

More than 22,000 users have indicated an issue with ChatGPT.

Update at 1:03 p.m.

More than 25,000 users have reported an issue with ChatGPT to Downdetector.

On ChatGPT’s status checker, they have also identified elevated error rates for fine-tuning jobs as of 12:56 p.m. PST.

Update at 1:08 p.m.

User reports are beginning to slow regarding issues with ChatGPT to Downdetector. More than 28,000 users have now reported an issue with the program.
