Six Cited, No DUI Arrests at Clovis Checkpoint on Shaw Avenue

Six drivers were cited for license violations and no DUI arrests were made during a Clovis Police Department checkpoint conducted Saturday night, authorities said.

The checkpoint was held on westbound Shaw Avenue at Cherry Lane, between Clovis and Minnewawa, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Of the 728 vehicles that passed through, officers contacted 422 drivers and issued six citations for either driving with a suspended license or without a license.

The operation was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
