The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the homicide of 31-year-old Brittany Degrise, whose body was found three years ago.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 10, 2023, dispatchers responded to a call regarding a person found lying on the side of a road.

Deputies arrived at the location on South Orange Avenue, midway between Manning and Dinuba Avenues in Fresno, where they found Degrise’s body.

Evidence showed her injuries to be consistent with homicide, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

During the investigation, detectives determined Degrise was estranged from her family and was a transient in the city of Fresno.

She was known to frequent the area of Tulare and First Streets in Fresno.

Detectives have spoken with people who knew Degrise, but after three years investigating, they have been unable to identify the person or people responsible for her death.
