Around 8 p.m., Fresno police officers responded to a shopping center near Shaw and Brawley avenues in northwest Fresno, where they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds near an urgent care center, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

Both men were taken to Community Regional Medical Center. One of them later died, while the other is expected to survive, officials said.

Investigators determined the shooting happened earlier at a truck repair yard in the 5400 block of South Cedar Avenue, in an unincorporated part of the county. Fresno police contacted the Sheriff’s Office to take over the investigation.

Deputies found evidence of a crime scene at the yard and learned the victims had left the location in a vehicle with another person before stopping at the urgent care center.

No arrests have been made, and no other details were immediately released.
