A Porterville man was arrested Friday after authorities said he intentionally set a woman on fire, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday.
Deputies with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 24100 block of Avenue 120 just before 5:30 p.m.. When they arrived, they found a woman suffering from severe burns to her face, arms and torso.
Investigators said Sean Hofmann, 42, poured a highly flammable accelerant on or near the victim, causing the fire.
The woman was flown to a nearby hospital, where she is in stable condition.
