Fresno County Authorities Investigate Fatal Shooting at Kerman Wedding

Fresno County sheriff’s deputies are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at a wedding in Kerman over the weekend.

Deputies responded around 10 p.m. Saturday to a report of an injured person at a home on the 3300 block of S. Congress Avenue, where a wedding celebration was underway.

Officers found Martin Tovar Zalazar, 63, with severe injuries. He was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

Homicide detectives and the Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit are collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses.

Authorities said the incident appears isolated and involved people who knew each other, though the primary suspect(s) have not yet been confirmed.
