A global protest organized by the group “Hands Off!” is set for Saturday, calling on Donald Trump and Elon Musk to stop their involvement in key social programs and government policies.

According to a flyer promoting the event, protesters aim to send a clear message: keep your hands off Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, medical research, and other critical services.

The group’s website describes the demonstration as a mobilization against what it calls “the most brazen power grab in modern history,” accusing Trump, Musk, and their billionaire allies of launching an attack on the government, economy, and individual rights.

Protests in Fresno, Hanford, Visalia

In Fresno, the protest is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Shaw Avenue and Fresno Street, joining coordinated demonstrations in cities worldwide.

Another protest will take place in Hanford at the Kings County Government Center from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while a separate event will be held in Visalia at the corner of Caldwell and South Mooney Blvd. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Protesters Claim Country Is Facing a National Crisis

The protesters claim that the country is facing a national crisis, with their democracy and basic rights hanging in the balance. They argue that the actions of Trump and Musk threaten essential services, including dismantling Social Security and Medicare, which would force seniors and disabled Americans to face new barriers to the benefits they have already paid for.

Additionally, they allege that the wealthy are receiving massive financial benefits while the rest of the population struggles with rising costs for food, rent, and healthcare.

The group also contends that working people are losing protections, allowing financial institutions like payday lenders and banks to exploit Americans without consequence

Lastly, “Hands Off!” claims that marginalized communities, including veterans, children, seniors, immigrants, transgender people, and political opponents, are under direct attack.
