A Merced business owner was arrested Tuesday for allegedly operating an illegal gambling enterprise inside a local electronics store, the Merced Police Department said in a statement.

Detectives executed a search warrant at Cell Kings, located in the 1500 block of E. Yosemite Parkway, following multiple complaints about illegal gambling at the business, police said.

During the search, investigators discovered a dedicated room with multiple gambling machines and seized cash collected from the operation, along with additional funds found at the business.

The store’s owner, Arshvir Singh, 43, was taken into custody on multiple charges related to illegal gambling and booked into the Merced County Jail.

Authorities encourage residents to report illegal gambling operations to the Merced Police Department.
