A Republican congressman from Georgia has introduced a bill to rename Greenland as President Donald Trump continues efforts to acquire the island.
Rep. Earl “Buddy” Carter filed the Red, White, and Blueland Act of 2025, which would change Greenland’s name to Red, White and Blueland. The bill directs Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to implement the change in official documents and maps.

“America is back and will soon be bigger than ever with the addition of Red, White, and Blueland,” Carter said in a news release. “President Trump has correctly identified the purchase of what is now Greenland as a national security priority, and we will proudly welcome its people to join the freest nation to ever exist when our Negotiator-in-Chief inks this monumental deal.”
The proposal comes as Trump continues pushing to buy Greenland from Denmark, though Greenland Prime Minister Mute Egede has repeatedly stated the island is not for sale.
