Developers have found a use for an empty plot of land at Audubon Drive and Nees Avenue: luxury apartments.
The plan’s architect says in the project application to the city of Fresno that 63 one- and two-bedroom units can fit on 2.62 acres. The project will be an expansion of the Audubon Court Apartments adjacent to the land.
The Fresno City Council will vote Thursday whether to vacate the dirt lot and hand it over to Fresno Supreme, Inc., the developer.
Calls made to Fresno Supreme were not returned.
Tennis Court, Pool, Underground Parking for Apartment Expansion
Architect Jon Frame described the project as a luxury apartment complex, done as “upscale contemporary.” Across two buildings, 38 of the units will be one bedroom, 23 will be two-bedroom units, and two others will be studios.
The development will have a tennis court and pool, with lanai and barbecue space. A portion of the parking will be underground.
Expanding the apartment complex will require new curbs, gutters, and sidewalks. A site plan shows an easement along Nees Avenue.
Being an extension of the existing project, the city can expedite many studies. They don’t expect the additional units to add much traffic demand.
As an infill project, many impact studies don’t need to be done, especially traffic, noise, and air quality.
