Cool temperatures are pretty much guaranteed this week for Fresno and surrounding communities.
But there’s also a chance that the skies could sprinkle the Valley with more rain in what already has been a big year for precipitation.
The latest forecast from the National Weather Service in Hanford calls for a 20% chance of rain on Monday night. The forecast also says there’s a 30% chance of rain on Wednesday, followed by a 20% chance on Thursday.
Up in the Sierra Nevada, 2 to 5 inches of snow is expected above 5,000 feet during the week.
The daily high temperatures through Friday will range from the mid-60s to the low 70s. NWS Hanford says a slight weekend warm-up will take the highs into the mid-70s.
This cool-off follows a weekend in which temperatures were 10 to 15 degrees above normal for this time of year.
Expect winds ranging from 5 p.m. to 15 mph this week.
However, a High Wind Advisory is in effect for the Kern County desert as wind gusts up to 50 mph are expected there through early Tuesday morning.
