Anthony Sifuentes, 19, of Clovis, was arrested in connection with the first Clovis armed robbery of 2025 on Wednesday evening near Sierra Vista Elementary School in Clovis, the Clovis Police Department said.

Officers responded to a call at 8:30 p.m. of a robbery near Barstow and Pollasky avenues.

The victim, an adult male, told police that another man approached him, pointed a handgun, and demanded his jewelry.

The suspect allegedly ripped a necklace and two bracelets from the victim before fleeing into a nearby apartment complex.

Clovis police used a drone and other technology to find the suspect, later identified as Sifuentes, inside an apartment.

After police made several announcements, lasting about 10 minutes, Sifuentes exited the apartment carrying his toddler.

Officers took him into custody and handed the child over to its mother.

Officers found one of the stolen bracelets and a handgun in the apartment, as well as additional evidence on the roof.

No injuries were reported, and no students or staff from the school were involved in the incident.

Sifuentes was booked in Fresno County Jail on multiple felony charges.
