A Fresno man was sentenced Monday to eight years and one month in prison for possessing methamphetamine and being a felon in possession of ammunition and a hand grenade, U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced.

Eric Feldmann, 39, admitted to having an MKII hand grenade with an M204A2 Fuze in his car on Dec. 24, 2023, according to court documents. The grenade was seized by police and destroyed, according to officials.

Feldmann also had between 50 and 200 grams of methamphetamine in plastic bags.

On Jan. 9, law enforcement discovered several rounds of ammunition in Feldmann’s storage locker. As a convicted felon, he is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.

The case was investigated by the Fentanyl Overdose Resolution Team, Fresno Police Department, Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, and Drug Enforcement Administration.

It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Cody S. Chapple and Justin J. Gilio.
