A Fresno County sheriff’s deputy was arrested last month for DUI after crashing a county vehicle near Reedley, the California Highway Patrol said Thursday.
According to investigators, deputy Dean Zavala, 31, crashed a Nissan on Feb. 23 at about 10 p.m. at Goodfellow and Rio Vista avenues.
They blamed the rollover accident on Zavala’s allegedly impaired driving.
Zavala grabbed a ride from a passerby and then reported the accident. Officers who went to the deputy’s home judged him to be under the influence and made a misdemeanor arrest.
The CHP says the investigation is continuing.
