The Fresno Police Department has arrested three suspects in connection with two separate homicides that occurred in September and October, according to a news release.

The department’s Homicide Unit identified Donte Harmon, 27, and Maurice Fields, 30, as key suspects in both incidents.

The first shooting happened on Tuesday, Sept. 10, near Abby Street and Garland Avenue.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and discovered three victims at the scene, all with gunshot wounds.

One of the victims, Sylvester Choi, 35, from the Bay Area, was pronounced dead by emergency medical personnel, according to authorities.

The second homicide occurred on Sunday, Oct. 20, at the intersection of Meyers Street and Arthur Avenue.

Police were once again alerted by ShotSpotter and found Patrick Dixon, 35 with gunshot injuries. Dixon was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he died.

Authorities say the arrests were made with help from the Sacramento Police Department and Fresno PD’s undercover tactical unit.

In addition to Harmon and Fields, Nathen Rodriguez, 24, was also linked to the Sept. 10 shooting of Choi.

Rodriguez, who was already in custody for an unrelated crime, was formally arrested on Friday for Choi’s murder.

Investigators said that all three suspects are gang members and believe the shootings were gang-related.
