The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office has charged Adam Canales, 18, of Fresno, with murder following a tragic incident on Wednesday, that claimed the lives of sisters Eliza Yang, 18, and Mang Yang, 25, according to a Friday news release.

According to authorities, the sisters were in their bedroom when Canales drove his vehicle into their house while fleeing a Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputy who was attempting to pull him over.
Canales was charged Friday with one count of evading an officer causing death and one count of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

If convicted, Canales faces a sentence of 30 years to life in state prison.

Canales is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday at 8:30 a.m. in Fresno Superior Court.
