Jesse Garcia, 44, was the man found dead Monday on a sandbar in the Kings River, the Fresno Sheriff-Coroner’s Office said Wednesday.

Authorities said that there was nothing suspicious leading to the death of Garcia.

On Monday, a call came into the sheriff’s office at about noon from a person who reported seeing an unresponsive individual lying partially submerged in the water, southeast of Nebraska and Macdonough avenues.

Firefighters, emergency medical services, and sheriff’s deputies arrived and retrieved the man from the river. Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.
