Two men are facing felony vandalism charges after police say they tore up the soccer fields at Riverway Sports Park early Tuesday, the Visalia Police Department reported.

Just before 1 a.m., Visalia police received calls about a truck doing donuts on the park’s soccer fields, leaving behind damaged grass and broken sprinklers.

Officers tracked down the vehicle as it left the area.

The driver, Marcos Fernandez Martinez, 18, and passenger, Pedro Huerta, 19, were arrested.

Both are charged with felony vandalism and conspiracy and were booked at the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial facility, according to authorities.

The extent of the damage to the fields is still being assessed, and it’s unclear when repairs will begin.
