Granville Homes is teaming up with Mercy Corps, a leading global humanitarian organization, to provide emergency services to families affected by the catastrophic 7.8. earthquake in Syria.
For every dollar raised through March 31, Granville Homes will match dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000 and donate all proceeds to Mercy Corps’ Syrian relief efforts.
“Our business has been blessed with success, which is in no small part due to the support of our homeowners and trade partners. It is their support, and the support of our community, that allows us to give back to those in need,” said Granville Homes President and CEO Darius Assemi.
“And today, that need lies with our brothers and sisters who were affected by this tragedy.”

Earthquake Claims 42,000 Lives
On Friday, disaster teams in Syria and Turkey estimated that nearly 42,000 people had lost their lives in the Feb. 6 earthquake.
And, the United Nations regional humanitarian coordinator for the Syrian crisis says the country’s death toll is likely to rise further as teams scramble to remove rubble in hard-hit areas.
Mercy Corps is a global team of humanitarians working together on the front lines of today’s biggest crises to create a future of possibility, where everyone can prosper. Their mission is to alleviate suffering, poverty, and oppression by helping people build secure, productive, and just communities.

Mercy Corps Has a Longtime Presence in Syria
Mercy Corps has worked in Syria since 2008, providing essential support including water, food, shelter, sanitation services, and livelihood assistance to displaced Syrians.
Granville Homes has partnered with Mercy Corps in the past and is confident that they have the experience, infrastructure, and people in place to make an immediate difference, Assemi said.
