Fresno police have arrested six students in connection with social media threats made against local schools.

Four students were taken into custody on Friday, with two additional arrests announced Monday, according to a police statement on social media Tuesday.

Among the two arrested on Monday was a 13-year-old student at Tehipite Middle School, accused of threatening a shooting at the school.

A 12-year-old student from Glacier Point Middle School was also arrested after sending a message with a gun photo and a threat to commit a shooting.

Authorities emphasized that all threats to harm students are taken seriously, regardless of intent. Police said such threats generate unnecessary fear and will result in charges against those responsible.
