A man from Iowa has been indicted on charges of conspiring to create and distribute graphic videos depicting extreme violence and sexual abuse against monkeys, according to federal authorities.
Philip Colt Moss allegedly collaborated with two other individuals, Nicholas Dryden and Giancarlo Morelli, to produce and share the disturbing content, which included scenes of monkeys being mutilated and sexually assaulted.

The alleged acts of violence took place in March and April of 2023, with Dryden and Morelli already facing charges and awaiting trial.
According to court documents, the videos featured graphic scenes of monkeys being subjected to horrifying acts, including burning, cutting, and forced penetration with various objects.
Moss faces a potential maximum sentence of five years for conspiracy and seven years for the creation and distribution of the videos, if convicted.

The case is being prosecuted by the Justice Department’s Environment and Natural Resources Division, with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and FBI leading the investigation.
