A routine traffic stop in Visalia led to the discovery of thousands of prescription pills and a pound of marijuana, the Visalia Police Department said in a statement.
Around 7:50 p.m. Friday, a Visalia police officer pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of Mineral King Avenue and West Street for tinted windows, authorities said.
During the stop, the officer found 74 bottles of Xanax containing about 6,660 pills with an estimated street value of $30,000.
Police said they also recovered roughly a pound of marijuana from the vehicle.
The driver, Ahmad Nagi, 22, was arrested and booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility.
He faces charges of possession of Xanax for sale and possession of marijuana for sale.
