A vehicle crashed into a Visalia business Thursday evening after the driver’s foot slipped off the brake pedal and onto the gas pedal, authorities said.

Visalia police officers and firefighters responded about 5:58 p.m. to the 3300 block of South Fairway Street following reports of a vehicle crashing into a building.

Investigators determined that the driver’s foot slipped from the brake onto the accelerator, causing the vehicle to surge forward and strike the business, police said.

No injuries were reported, and officers determined that alcohol and drugs were not factors in the collision.
