A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon in Modesto, according to the Modesto Police Department.

The collision occurred around 4:33 p.m. near the intersection of Coffee Road and Floyd Avenue.

Police said the pedestrian was crossing Floyd Avenue when a vehicle making a left turn onto southbound Coffee Road struck them.

An on-duty Modesto police officer who was nearby responded to the scene.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition Monday.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said impairment does not appear to be a factor in the collision.

The cause of the crash has not been determined, and the investigation remains ongoing.
