The alcohol-free day party that’s been drawing crowds to north Fresno returns Saturday for its fourth installment, offering a wellness-focused alternative to traditional events.
Grand Rising, organized by Evan Nebeker, co-founder of Grizzly Fest, transforms the morning hours at Azara Supper Club from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. into a high-energy celebration featuring DJs, mocktails, healthy food, and wellness vendors — all without alcohol.
“Everything is alcohol based — it’s just the truth of it,” Nebeker told GV Wire in earlier coverage. “We’re not telling people not to drink. But we’re just not serving it here.”
Starting Parties With Running? That’s the Grand Rising Way
The event kicks off with optional group runs — a 5K and 10K beginning at 8 a.m. from 9447 N. Ft. Washington Road at Riverview Shopping Center.
The free runs, led by Fresno Run Club, welcome participants of all ages, abilities and speeds, with complimentary run bibs, a 40-foot archway, and hydration stations.
“This is the full experience of a paid run, but it is completely free,” Nebeker said, adding that past success has allowed him to expand the event’s scope.
Several local running clubs are sponsoring the fitness component, including 9372run, Fresno Beer Runners, Sanger Stride Tribe, 559 Run Club, Chowchilla Run Club, Solestice Runners Fresno, and Ridge Creek Run Club.
Let’s Get This Party Started
Following the runs, the main event brings together music, movement and community.
Entertainment will feature Princess Rose, Makle, and DJ Kay Rich.
Inside, attendees will find an array of wellness-focused vendors. Sad Tire will serve espressos while Saint Goods offers matcha and coffee. Hydroot returns with local honey and green tea, and Azara will provide mocktails. Trinity Fruits will distribute free fresh-squeezed juices throughout the run and event, while MycoPop functional energy drinks will be available for free sampling.
Ohana Massage will offer complimentary massages, and Nature’s Way will sell sea moss and ginger shots. Free photo booths and face painting round out the offerings.
New merchandise including bandanas, fans, keychains, and coffee cups will be available for purchase. New sponsors include Trinity Fruit, making its second appearance, and Card City.
Keeping Costs Low, Vibes High
Nebeker emphasized keeping costs accessible. “What we wanted to do is make everything we could free on the inside, except some goods that are sold,” he said. “You’re spending $10 to $20 to get in here. You don’t have to spend more than $10 to $20 on the outside, and that’s only if you want to get coffee and food or merch.”
The concept has resonated with Fresno’s growing sober-curious community, offering a family-friendly space where people can connect without the pressure or presence of alcohol.
Tickets are $8 for children, $21 for general admission, and $50 for VIP, which includes a roped-off area, first drink free, and one article of Grand Rising merchandise.
“It’s honestly an honor to be a part of it and to be working on it and just to feel the love,” Nebeker said. “That’s the coolest part.”
