Three people were arrested Tuesday in connection with a New Year’s Day stabbing that left two men injured outside a Fresno restaurant, the Fresno Police Department said in a statement.
Police said officers responded shortly before 1 a.m. on New Year’s Day to Bobby Salazar’s, at Olive and Broadway avenues, after reports of multiple stabbing victims.
Officers contacted two men, ages 25 and 34, who had sustained multiple stab wounds. Both were given medical aid at the scene and later treated at a hospital.
Detectives with the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC) said the initial disturbance began inside the restaurant and involved multiple subjects who were removed by security personnel. The disturbance continued outside and escalated, resulting in the two victims being assaulted and stabbed multiple times.
Fresno detectives arrested three suspects on Tuesday: Luis Ramirez, 28, Ramiro Arevalo, 34, and Sabrina Puentes, 31.
All three were booked into the Fresno County Jail on multiple charges related to the investigation, including assault with a deadly weapon with gang enhancements.
