A 23-year-old Selma man was arrested Thursday following a multi-agency investigation into the sexual assault of multiple minors, Kingsburg police said.
Matthew Rios was taken into custody after officers executed a search warrant at his Selma residence in a joint operation involving the Kingsburg Police Department, the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Fresno County Adult Compliance Team.
The investigation began in November 2025 after Kingsburg police began investigating the sexual assault of a minor in the city of Kingsburg.
Through interviews, detectives identified Rios as the suspect and later determined he had allegedly victimized additional minors from other cities in Fresno and Tulare counties.
Police said all known victims are minors, some as young as 12 years old.
Investigators said Rios specifically targeted minors, contacted them through social media platforms and arranged to have them sneak away from their family homes to meet with him.
Rios was booked into the Fresno County Jail on numerous felony charges. The department said they will not release an image of the suspect at this time.
