Clovis Police Seek Public’s Help in Aggravated Battery Investigation

Clovis police are asking for the public’s help in an aggravated battery investigation after an adult man was found critically injured early Thursday near Barstow Avenue and Highway 168.

Officers were dispatched to the area shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday and found the man on a canal south of Barstow Avenue, between Peach and Willow avenues, with severe injuries, police said. He was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Detectives and crime scene personnel responded overnight and continued investigating throughout the day, police said.

Police said a suspect has been arrested and faces a felony aggravated battery charge.

Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the incident, security camera footage in the area, or who was in the area between midnight and 1 a.m. to contact police.
