Christmas Tree Lane in Fresno is set to open for the holiday season beginning Wednesday, welcoming both vehicles and walkers to experience the festive display, organizers said.

Visitors are reminded there will be no “walk-only” nights this year, and to remain aware of pedestrians while driving. Organizers also encouraged guests to turn off or dim headlights for a better viewing experience and to be mindful of neighborhood residents along Shields Avenue.

Traffic on the lane will flow northbound in both directions. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., running through Dec. 25.

Christmas Tree Lane is a popular local tradition, and officials warned that weekends and the days closer to Christmas can become especially crowded. They suggest that visitors consider coming earlier in the month or on weekdays.
