On Wired Wednesday, GV Wire senior reporter David Taub talks with KMPH Fox 26 “Great Day” anchor Liz Gonzalez about a legal claim made against the office of Fresno County Supervisor Garry Bredefeld.
Former Bredefeld aide Jennifer Ortega, through her attorney, Peter Bradley, filed a $1 million claim with the county on Nov. 12, alleging sexual harassment and workplace violence, public records show.
Ortega, a former television reporter and publicist for the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, received a “right-to-sue” letter from the state Civil Rights Department after she was terminated by the county.
The county has 45 days to respond to the claim. If it is rejected, Ortega can sue in court.
“I know the county’s actions were completely justified and Ms. Ortega’s claims are baseless,” Bredefeld told GV Wire.
