A 55-year-old Clovis woman was killed Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Clovis Avenue, the Clovis Police Department said in a statement.
The collision occurred just after 9:30 p.m. near Griffith Way, south of Ashlan Avenue.
First responders attempted life-saving efforts, but the pedestrian, identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office as Tina Taylor, died at the scene.
The driver stayed on site and cooperated with police, the Clovis Police Department said.
The department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the crash, temporarily closing the roadway. Authorities said drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors.
Police are reminding drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution when traveling near busy streets.
