A 23-year-old Fresno woman was arrested Monday on multiple felony charges following a domestic violence incident, authorities said.
Fresno police told GV Wire that the victim was holding a young child when Brittany Alvarez-Aguilar struck the victim with a bamboo backscratcher.
During the attack, the child suffered a laceration to the head.
While being struck, the victim moved, which caused the child to be hit.
Alvarez-Aguilar faces felony charges including inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant, endangering a child, battery causing serious bodily injury, and assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm. She also faces misdemeanor charges of vandalism and driving without a license.
Bail was set at $103,000 for all charges, according to arrest records.
Police said the domestic violence case remains active and confidential, preventing them from releasing additional details.
