Fresno County Authorities Seek Suspect in Kerman Wedding Homicide

Fresno County Sheriff’s homicide detectives have obtained a murder arrest warrant for Salvador Rizo Pacheco, 53, of Kerman, following a fatal shooting.

Pacheco, described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 265 pounds, is actively being sought by law enforcement, and officials are asking the public for help locating him.

Deputies responded around 10 p.m. Saturday to a report of an injured person at a home on the 3300 block of S. Congress Avenue, where a wedding celebration was taking place.

Officers found the victim, Martin Tovar Zalazar, 63, of Kerman, with severe injuries. He was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died.

Homicide detectives and members of the Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit collected evidence and interviewed potential witnesses.

Investigators determined that Pacheco, who knew the victim, was the primary suspect.
